Python Training - Art Direction and Animation
In 2022, Cloud Academy planned to release a suite of over 20 courses on mastering the Python programming language within a 3 month span. This was the first time Cloud Academy released programming courses at scale.
As a result, it became clear that this would be an "all-hands-on-deck" situation, involving the entire team of 8, my manager and over 10 contractors for production. This also posed an opportunity to develop a design system and templates from the ground up.

Developing a Design System
Developing the look took a lot of research on what’s hot in the industry and where we could take it. I created several moodboards and styleframes of high-tech imagery, but felt it was missing a bit of warmth. I took some elements that I liked, but decided to build more of a narrative around a developer to show his progression from novice to professional programmer.
Once we established a “look” and narrative-focused approach, I created a design system which included visual building blocks, characters, and templates for the entire series.
